CCE - 171: Basic Fabrication

This course instructs students in standard fabrication principles and practices used in the industry.  Safety, terminology, material milling, lathe, grinding, sawing, drilling, tapping, riveting, sheet metal working, standard layout skills, measurement and standard shop procedures are used to complete various projects.  A working knowledge of hand and machine tools is achieved through a series of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on projects.   This class will run with both credit and non-credit students together in one cohort.

Please read:  This class is scheduled in an open entry/open exit format. The coursework portion of the class is completed online, and the lab portion is to be completed during the open lab hours. Participants must complete the lab portion during the open lab hours. Lab hours: Monday & Wednesday, from 1:30pm - 7:30pm, located in Justin Whiting, room 171.
